Ever since my initial journey to Panama back in 2003, I’ve been lucky enough to dine at numerous eateries throughout this lively nation. Each trip offered a deep dive into Panama’s extensive culinary scene, unveiling new tastes and locales. Among the myriad of places I’ve explored, one consistently beckons me back: “Leños y Carbón“. While it might not top my list of all-time favorites—a spot possibly contested by “Parillada Jimy’s”, another gem I cherish—”Leños y Carbón” occupies a dear spot in my taste preferences, particularly for its standout barbecue ribs.

The Unrivaled Delight of “Leños y carbon” Ribs

Why does that restaurant magnetize me repeatedly? The allure lies in their barbecue ribs. Despite sampling a variety of their offerings, it’s the ribs that always capture my attention. Their allure comes from the tender, melt-in-your-mouth meat, drenched in a savory, subtly smoky barbecue sauce, making each meal there unforgettable. When pondering what I adore more—the restaurant or its ribs—it’s a tough call, but the allure of those ribs tends to sway my preference toward “Leños y Carbón”.

Discovering the restaurant

Finding “Leños y Carbón” is easy, given its presence in several key shopping centers across Panama city, including Albrook Mall and Multiplaza, among other spots. It’s a must-visit for carnivores, though its diverse menu caters to all diners. Offering everything from crisp salads and assorted sides to hearty, reasonably priced main dishes, Leños is an attractive pick for the middle-class diner. Its drink selection, ranging from sodas to natural juices and exotic fruit blends, ideally complements the meal.

Experience and Service

The service quality significantly enhances the dining experience. The waitstaff’s consistent friendliness and attentiveness make every visit smooth and enjoyable. This blend of superb cuisine, warm service, and strategic locations cements “Leños y Carbón” as a top restaurant in Panama between the others. Despite its Colombian roots, and my uncertainty about its international presence, its charm within Panama is unmistakable.

A Recommendation for Those Visiting Panama

For anyone in Panama or planning a visit, I highly recommend dining at “Leños y Carbón”. Whether you’re there for the famed barbecue ribs or to explore other menu items, your experience is likely to be as fulfilling as mine. Should you dine there, I’m eager to hear your thoughts. Panama’s culinary landscape is rich and varied, and this restaurant stands as a testament to this, blending tradition and taste to craft memorable dining experiences.

Beyond Leños, my culinary adventures in Panama have introduced me to eateries with compelling stories, distinct flavors, and welcoming atmospheres. Each restaurant adds a unique flair to the dining experience, from traditional barbecue to cutting-edge fusion dishes that marry local and international cuisines. Panama’s diverse culinary scene mirrors its cultural richness, a blend of indigenous and immigrant influences. The country’s gastronomy, with “Leños y Carbón” as a shining example, vividly reflects its history, traditions, and innovative spirit. Each meal is an invitation to discover, enjoy, and celebrate Panama’s culinary wealth, constantly drawing me back for more.

Reasons to Stay Seated After a Plane Lands

4 extremely important reasons to stay seated after a plane lands

Here are four Crucial Reasons to Stay Seated After a Plane Lands

Reasons to Stay Seated After a Plane Lands. Why stay seated after leanding
This post contains both non affiliate and affiliate links. Vendors may share a commission with us if a purchase is made from these links.

After landing, passengers must stay seated until the plane stops completely. See the following details:

1. Personal Safety:

By remaining seated after landing, you can ensure that the plane will stop and slow down safely. Simply because you perceive the plane to be moving slowly does not necessarily mean that it is. The plane is moving faster than you realize; the speed you sense while inside the cabin is not accurate. If someone is standing up when the captain makes a sudden or emergency stop, they risk falling violently to the ground, getting hurt, or hurting other seated passengers. Therefore, it is important to remain seated and follow the instructions of the flight attendants at all times, even if one feels like they are not moving at an impressive speed

2. Item falling down:

After landing, if passengers are permitted to stand up, their first instinct will be to open the hand luggage compartment and retrieve their personal belongings. Again, this deed may have an impact on traveler security. During the flight, some personal items might get moved around. Due to the movement of the aircraft, the sudden opening of the cabin may cause items inside to fall, endangering other passengers. It is crucial to receive clear instructions from the flight crew regarding when it is safe to stand up and move around the cabin to prevent this.

3. Emergency exit:

In the event of an emergency, passengers should be properly seated and prepared to leave right away. If an emergency evacuation is required, passengers who have already stood up, are carrying bags, or have fallen to the ground could make matters worse by acting inappropriately. This will make it impossible for various passengers to follow the correct instructions. This is a vital part, since all passengers must heed the flight attendant’s instructions when there is an emergency evacuation.

4. Aisle congestion:

Standing up or moving around the cabin before the aircraft has come to a stop can create congestion in the aisles, making it difficult for the crew to move around and carry out necessary procedures. Not causing obstructions when flight attendants have to apply emergency procedures is essential for a successful evacuation, so again, passengers should remain seated with their seat belts on until the aircraft has come to a complete stop.

All passengers’ safety!

Observe the crew’s instructions. You can demonstrate that you respect the safety procedures in place by remaining seated until instructed otherwise. And your right mindset will contribute to everyone’s safety.

With infants and young children, some people even take the risk of standing up and moving to gain the advantage of being the first to disembark. This is a dangerous behavior that should be avoided at all costs. Not only is standing and moving around a safety hazard, but it also creates an environment of discomfort and disorder that can disrupt the flight process for other passengers.

This article outlines four reasons why you should not get up while the plane is still moving. But if you pay close attention, you’ll notice that all of these points have safety as their common factor. So, you can see how safety affects the travel experience. Passengers frequently have the bad habit of disobeying airport or onboard safety procedures, which is a serious error because it can lead to regrettable and sometimes irreparable consequences, even if you don’t see them until something happens.

Pay close attention to all safety procedures and announcements on your flight for a safe journey for everyone. With proper diligence, you can ensure that everyone’s first objective—having a nice flight—is achieved.

COVID-19-inspired industry innovations

Delta, TSA introduce antimicrobial bins at five airports

Credit: Delta Air LinesDelta is rolling out antimicrobial bins in partnership with TSA as part of the Delta CareStandard. The bins are in automated screening lanes in Atlanta, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Los Angeles, New York-LaGuardia and New York-JFK.

The new bins prevent the growth of a broad spectrum of bacteria through antimicrobial technology that is built into the bin and continuously minimizes the presence of microbes throughout the bin’s lifecycle. Delta said the black color and indicators on bin handles “will help customers know their belongings are safely traveling through the security checkpoint protected by this antimicrobial advancement.”

covid test temperature airport

The FAA isn’t Mandating Temperature Checks And COVID-19 Testing – But why?

Why isn’t the FAA mandating temperature checks of everyone who enters an airport? Why not also mandate that airlines provide COVID-19 tests of all employees who come into contact with passengers? This would make the traveling public feel better about flying.

Here is the answer by: Karen Walker Air Transport World Editor-in-Chief :

Then there are cost and liability issues. If the FAA had to add staff to every airport to conduct health/temperature screenings, that plus the cost of thermometers would require funding. And in litigious America, people who are denied entry might sue the government for their missed flights.
The issue of wearing masks is complicated because individual airlines are mandating the wearing of masks, in some cases without explicit government support. As more states require that masks be worn inside public buildings, rules may vary from airport to airport. Again, consistency is needed.
COVID-19 testing of aviation employees is taking place, though it differs from airline to airline. In the U.S., there are still problems with accessibility to testing for non urgent cases, and in many cases, test results do not come back for days, making them useless for crew members. Regular COVID-19 testing for airline employees would be viable only if easily available at every airport were quick and simple inexpensive tests (ideally with a mouth swab) with fast results. None of those conditions exist right now… Read full article on aviation week network
