User Review
( votes)I have been to Curaçao on a professional trip; I spent some fantastic days there. Here I publish most of the questions I have received after my trip to curaçao. Most of them are traditional and regular questions I usually receive after each trip. They are my trips FAQ; I have created my travel tags report from them. Many people usually tell me that my answers are helpful. So, here they are:
– Which place?
Willemstad, a city and capital of Curaçao. It is located in the Caribbean zone.
– Have you been there?
Yes, I have traveled to Curaçao and visited Willemstad.
– How did you see it?
Willemstad is an excellent place; it is a small city but very nice. Not crowdy, very simple, and very unique
– What about safety and security?
Great, it is a safe place. You can also refer to the US Gov advisory alert, to check about the reputation of Curaçao regarding security
– How was the food?
Very good, I have nice souvenir regarding the food
– What is your favorite food there?
I don’t have a favorite food in Willemstad; I ate various creole food, local and exotic food that tasted very good. My friends and I loved it.
– Is the place expensive?
This country is not reputed to be an expensive place; I have visited some small stores and eaten at different kinds or levels of restaurants, prices are average, but it also depends on your choices.
– What about the people?
People are nice. Calm and pleasant at the same time. They are welcoming and friendly.
– Which language is spoken there?
Dutch is the official language, and everybody also speaks Papiamento. But finding people who speak English and Spanish in Willemstad is effortless.
– Is the place more business, shopping or touristic?
People do all these three things Willemstad. But I saw it as more touristic.
– What does someone need as a travel document to go there?
It depends on which passport you have. Many passports can travel to Curaçao without a visa. However, people holding passports requiring visas must go to a Netherlands consulate to request the visa.
– Where did you stay?
I stayed at the Santa Barbara beach and Golf Resort – A very nice Hotel, a little out of the city.
– What about transportation?
I did not experiment the public transportation since we had a bus moving with the group. But they have a particular taxi service.
– Is the place connected? Do they have a good internet signal
Curacao is connected, I got a good signal with a company like Digicel, and the Internet signal was excellent at the hotel.- People’s overall trading attitude?
People have a good attitude regarding trading; I did not experiment in any case of cheating or fooling.
– Why would you not recommend someone to go there?
I found no reason not to go to Curaçao, except if you are looking for a crowdy or crazy place; in that case, Curaçao would not be the best destination for you.
– Why would you recommend someone to go there?
I would recommend visiting Curaçao and particularly Willemstad for many reasons. Another excellent place to discover is Curaçao teaches. Curaçao tells great stories and has lovely city sights for amazing travel photography, nice beaches, nice weather, a pleasant environment, Caribbean flavor, typical nature, and some fantastic touristic attractions
– What would you suggest about precautions?
Curaçao is generally known as a safe place; I would suggest just standard precautions, as you can always find a thief anywhere in the world.
– What else did you hear or do you know about this place?
Nothing terrible or specific. People often talk about Curaçao’s history and relationship with the Netherlands.
– Can you suggest some hotels or other places to stay?
There are many excellent hotels in Curacao. I better know The Santa Babara Beach and Golf Resort, where I stayed, which is a lovely place, and the service is outstanding. But also exist various hotels that are less expensive or cheap. A good guide or travel agent or online travel agency like booking.com, Kayak can help to find a cheap hotel if you need one. If you don’t trust searching online, a local person or friend available on-site can help.
– Can you suggest some good restaurants or other places to eat?
There are plenty of good restaurants; we ate at La Bohème restaurant in the Punda area, and I enjoyed the food; we also had a memorable dinner at Restaurant & Café Gouverneur de Rouville, great food.
– Can you suggest some areas to visit?
Willemstad is a small city, so you may have time to visit most of the areas, but many people go to the Punda area, which is the most popular; you can see stores, restaurants, a park, queen Hema Bridge, etc.; you can cross the bridge to Otrobanda, from there you will have a nice view of Punda and can take nice pictures of the colorful buildings. Like I did.
– Do you know or have a good reference or people we can trust there?
Yes, I know some friendly people there. I have colleagues and good friends there who can assist.
– Tag your feeling or relationship with this place as general global opinion?
My personal tags for Willemstad and Curacao are : #Curacao #GoodPlace #SafePlace #LoveCuracao #NiceWillemstad #UniqueWillemstad #UniqueCuraco #CuracaoWater #CuracaoBeach #CuracaoTourism #VisitCuracao #CuracaoVacation
